My Life Story: Welcome Emily to Lucky Dog Rescue!! Emily is a 5yr old long haired standard dachshund mix weighing approximately 23lbs. Emily came to Lucky Dog as a local owner surrender neglected and full of fleas. She had a very bad allergic reaction to the flea bites and needed urgent care. her foster mom started treating her immediately for the fleas and began medicated baths to help Emily feel less itchy and heal her wounds. The fleas are long gone and her skin is feeling so much better!! We want to help Emily find a loving and safe forever home. Emily is the sweetest girl that loves everyone. She wants very much to be your shadow and favorite girl. She deserves all the best in life. Emily does have a little separation anxiety that we are helping her work through. This is very common in dogs that have come from neglected homes. In time they learn that their people that love and care for them go and come back. We are working on crate training and she is doing very well with reestablishing housetraining!! Emily does well with other dogs of all sizes and is curious about cats when tested. Emily enjoys going for walks and rides in the car well. She is not food aggressive in any way and shares well with others. Emily enjoys people of all ages and is very gentle with kids.
