Helping Our Community

Lucky Dog Rescue is committed to helping our community in a variety of ways.  Here are a few of our most recent initiatives:

Bobby's Pet Pantry  Lucky Dog Rescue has launched Bobby's Pet Pantry, dedicated to "Bargain" Bob Petersen, an animal lover and my late father-in-law.  Our goal is to support the well-being of our furry friends in need. Lucky Dog Rescue provides essential pet food, supplies, and resources to families facing financial difficulties, ensuring that every pet has access to the care and nourishment they deserve.  We feel that this alleviates the burden of pet care costs but also promotes the welfare and longevity of pets in our community, making a heartfelt difference in the lives of animals and their owners alike.
City of Fond du Lac Animal Control Lucky Dog Rescue is proud to partner with the City of Fond du Lac for Animal Control, working hand-in-hand to enhance the lives of pets and ensure their safety within the community. Our collaboration focuses on providing comprehensive support for stray and abandoned animals, including rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming services. By joining forces with local authorities, we streamline the process of addressing animal control issues, offering a compassionate and effective approach to animal welfare. Through this partnership, Lucky Dog Rescue and the City of Fond du Lac are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, reducing the number of animals in need, and fostering a safer, more caring environment for all pets in the area.
Trap, Neuter, Release Program (TNR) Lucky Dog Rescue is excited to participate in a transformative Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program in collaboration with Critter Junction Pet Rescue, Sandi Paws, and the City of Fond du Lac. This initiative is designed to address the overpopulation of feral and stray cats in our community through a humane and sustainable approach. Our combined efforts focus on trapping, neutering or spaying, and then safely returning these cats to their original locations, significantly reducing their numbers and improving their quality of life. By working together, we ensure that each cat receives necessary medical care, reducing the risk of disease and promoting healthier, more stable feline colonies. This collaborative program not only helps control the stray cat population but also enhances community awareness and support for responsible pet care.
